THE HIGH RIDGE: A WESTERN TALE (short)

with Thomas Silcott in the role of "Sylvester Dixon"

Thomas Silcott is a multi-award winning actor, who works prolifically in film, television, stage and commercials. Thomas's feature work includes a range of performances from GODS & GENERALS, to the indy film COMMON THREADS directed by William Shockley which won Best Film at The Telluride Film Festival. He appears in back to back indy features, first playing an authoritative Police Captain in ANONYMOUS KILLERS by director A.R. Hilton, followed by director Jurgen Peretzki's currently untitled feature.  Thomas most recently starred in GUTTERBALL, a comedy for Roku as "Hal", an everyman bowler who is past his prime; as well as Jerry Seinfeld's UNFROSTED: THE POP TART WARS opposite Jerry, and Jim Gaffigan. 

 

Television credits include guest turns in COOPER'S BAR for IFC and AMC+, a recurring guest role as "Judge Martin" on NBC's LAW & ORDER, THE GOOD FIGHT, THIS IS US, Marvel's LUKE CAGE, SPEECHLESS, Amazon's HAND OF GOD, HEARTBEAT, ROSEWOOD, and CRIMINAL MINDS: BEYOND BORDERS.

Thomas is currently starring in the role of "Paul" in the very moving ensemble rock musical THE LONELY FEW at the Geffen Playhouse. Thomas performed on Broadway in BIRTHDAY CANDLES starring Debra Messing, mounted by The Roundabout Theatre at the American Airlines Theatre; In his original Broadway debut, Thomas made a splash as "Da Voice" in the TONY Award winning musical BRING IN DA NOISE, BRING IN DA FUNK; Thomas premiered Athol Fugard's COMING HOME at both the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles, winning Best Supporting Actor from Backstage Theater Awards, as well was a nomination from the NAACP for Best Actor for his performance; His performance in PAINTED ROCKS by Athol Fugard for the Fountain Theater garnered a Best Actor STAGE RAW Nomination; and his performance in the lead role of musician "Slow Drag" in MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM at the Mark Taper Forum with Center Theatre Group helped garner the Best Ensemble Ovation Awards.  Thomas reprised the lead role in THE ROYALE for the Capital Theatre in Albany, NY, previously mounted at Boston's Merrimack Repertory Theatre, both performances generating rave reviews.  To great critical praise, Thomas performed in another Athol Fugard play BOSEMAN AND LENA mounting with the Signature Theatre in New York City in February and March 2019.  The 3-hander play was notminated for several awards in the NYC Critic Circle.  He starred in the world premier of ON THE GROUNDS OF BELONGING playing the sage Bartender for THE LONG WARF THEATRE mounting, garnering more critical praise for his stand out performance. Recent performances include Laguna Playhouse's mounting of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. 

He was selected as one of 5 finalist performances streaming live at the American Black Film Festival in Miami in the "Shoot Your Shot" WEST PHILLY BABY pilot by Coleman Domingo for AMC+, appearing alongside Niecy Nash. 

Commerically, Thomas appears in numerous national commercials, most recently for AT+T and BANK OF AMERICA. 

 

Thomas is also a skilled rock & jazz musician and percussion drummer, regularly performing with the well known LA band THE VAUDE & THE VILLIANS.
